Install MeetScribe without the guesswork.

Before you begin

Prerequisites.

MeetScribe needs the right Zoho edition, a modern browser, microphone access, and an internet connection.

  • Zoho CRM edition: Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate, CRM Plus, or Zoho One.
  • Browser: Any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or Brave.
  • Admin access to install extensions and edit module page layouts.
  • Microphone permission granted in the browser.
  • Internet connection (transcription runs in the cloud).

Setup steps

From marketplace to first recording.

Install from Marketplace

Go to Zoho Marketplace, search for MeetScribe, and click Install. Choose whether to grant access to all users, specific profiles, or just yourself.

Authorize CRM API permissions

During installation, accept the Zoho CRM API permissions required for MeetScribe to read and update records.

Verify the custom field

MeetScribe automatically adds a MeetScribe Transcript custom field on Leads, Contacts, and Deals. Confirm it exists under Setup → Customization → Modules and Fields.

Add the button to page layouts

The MeetScribe button should appear on Lead, Contact, and Deal record pages. If you don't see it, edit the page layout and add the button manually.

Test it

Open any Lead. Click MeetScribe. Record a short test message, click Stop, wait 5–15 seconds for the AI transcript, then click Save to CRM. The transcript should appear in the MeetScribe Transcript field and the audio file should be attached.

Troubleshooting

Common fixes.

Button not visible on records?

  • Confirm the extension is installed for the user's profile (Setup → Marketplace → All Extensions → MeetScribe).
  • Check the user's profile permissions for custom buttons (Setup → Users and Control → Profiles → Custom Buttons).
  • Ensure the button is added to the page layout for that module.

Microphone not working?

  • Check the browser's site permissions for crm.zoho.com.
  • Refresh the CRM page after granting permission.
  • Try a different browser if issues persist.

Transcription failed?

  • Audio is still saved as an attachment — nothing is lost.
  • Check internet connection and try recording again.
  • Contact support if failures persist.

Save to CRM fails?

  • Verify the MeetScribe Transcript field exists on the module.
  • Click Copy in the widget and paste the transcript manually as a workaround.
  • Reinstall the extension to recreate the custom field if missing.
